Platinum is a great choice for a diamond ring. It’s the most durable of all the precious metals, so it makes a secure setting for your diamonds. And because it’s naturally bright white in colour, it will complement the colour of a diamond perfectly. At Austen & Blake, our wide selection of platinum diamond rings includes classic solitaires, trilogy rings and sparkling side stone rings.
That depends on your personal preference. While platinum and white gold look very similar, there are some subtle differences between them. Platinum is rarer, denser and more durable than gold, and it might feel a little weighter on your finger. Unlike gold, it can be used in its near-pure form to make jewellery, so it’s also hypoallergenic. It’s also worth bearing in mind that white gold and yellow gold will need to be replated every few years to maintain their bright appearance.
